Nobel Peace Prize Exhibit

Scientist Gertrude Elion recieved the Nobel Peace Prize in medicine for her research for Burroughs Wellcome Pharmaceutical. The story of her life was told on three towers that eventually pointed to the Nobel award mounted onto a wall angled to match the 22 degree angle of the building walls that housed her long career. Gertrude never married. When the Nobel Committee invited her to Stockholm, they restricted her guests to her husband and refused to substitute her beloved niece. Gertrude replied "no niece,no Gertrude," the committee relented.
